Andra Tech Group tackles skills shortage with in-house Academy
Andra Tech Group has launched the Andra Tech Academy, its own academy designed to address the growing skills shortage in the manufacturing industry. With the Academy, the group aims not only to further develop its current employees to an even higher technical level, but also to prepare career switchers for a future in precision engineering. This step comes at a time when Andra Tech Group expects growth in customer demand, while labour market shortages continue to increase. By training people in-house, the group makes a long-term investment in business continuity and the development of craftsmanship.
The Andra Tech Academy provides a learning and development environment for all companies within the group. Training programmes are developed on a tailor-made basis, ensuring that knowledge sharing and development closely align with day-to-day practice, technology and the people within the organisation. The programmes are developed internally, in collaboration with experienced trainers from the group’s own operating companies. Where necessary, external training partners are involved, always customised to the specific needs of the individual companies.
The first learning pathway offered by the Academy is an internal training programme for machine setters/operators. This programme was developed at subsidiary Wilting in Veldhoven and focuses on building a solid technical foundation for career switchers. Existing employees can also participate to refresh and deepen their knowledge. A key advantage is that new participants are employed by Wilting from the first day of their training. After an initial pilot phase, the programme will be rolled out more broadly and customised for other companies within the group. Read more...
