Demcon receives new order from Van Oord for unmanned, autonomous sailing offshore vessel

Maritime contractor Van Oord has placed a new order with Demcon unmanned systems, this time for an unmanned, autonomous sailing offshore platform. The vessel is suitable for challenging offshore conditions and weeks of survey operations at sea. By deploying these electric unmanned vessels, Van Oord can become greener, work safer and deploy its employees optimally.

Demcon unmanned systems develops and builds unmanned, autonomous sailing platforms for measuring and inspection work (survey) on the water. Van Oord already had good experience with the electrically powered survey vessels for hydrographic inspection on inland waters, the DUS V2500 types.
