On Thursday, December 18, Meilink and HQ Group reached agreement on the proposed transaction. This concerns the sale of all semicon activities within the entire group, including the four Brainport companies: two in Eindhoven and two in Schijndel. These locations have built a strong position in the semicon industry with, among others, packaging, packing, reuse and high-precision cleaning.
Dennis Groesbeek, CEO of Meilink: "With the proposed sale of these successful divisions, we are saying goodbye to the employees who work there. That is difficult. But we are convinced that with their knowledge and experience, and as part of a larger, stronger company, they will be able to continue their growth. We will do the same. With strong growth ambitions, we will continue as Royal Meilink, continuing to take care of our customers and focus on developing and supplying packaging solutions and packing of industrial products."
Meilink is a family owned business that has been in operation for almost 152 years. During that time, we have developed to become the market leader in industrial packaging solutions. We are continuing this growth in order to further strengthen our position in the industry. This sale is part of that growth strategy. All activities outside of the semiconductor business will be continued by our locations in Borculo, Boxmeer, Edam, Raamsdonksveer, and Rotterdam. The non-semiconductor activities from Schijndel and Eindhoven will be taken over by these locations.
The transaction is subject to all relevant approvals and procedures. Until this process is completed and the merger officially closes, HQ Group and Royal Meilink will continue to operate independently.
Further information will be communicated following regulatory clearance. Read more...
